Students from NDT 2022/2023 proudly participated in the IEEE Sri Lanka Section FYP Arena, held on 14th December 2025 at the Faculty of Engineering, University of Ruhuna, Hapugala, Galle. A total of 15 students representing three final-year project groups took part in this prestigious event, showcasing innovative and socially impactful solutions developed as part of their undergraduate studies.
The first project, “AQUALINK – A Marketing Platform for the Ornamental Fish Industry,” was presented by W.P.S. Dilshan (22IT0468), S.M.A.M. Suraweera (22IT0535), J.P.S.M. Jayaweera (22IT0489), A.P.Y.R. Kalhara (22IT0490), and P.A.H.S. Jayarathna (22IT0483). This project focused on strengthening market connectivity and digital transformation within the ornamental fish industry.
The second project, “Wee Sawiya – An Integrated Farmer–Government Paddy Management System,” was presented by W.A.H. Witharana (22IT0550), D.T.P. Dasanayake (22IT0462), G.A. Dhananjani (22IT0464), I.D. Hengoda (22IT0478), and S.A.N.K. Senarath (22IT0530). This system aimed to enhance coordination, transparency, and efficiency between farmers and government institutions in paddy management.
The third project, “BloomCare++ – A Mother and Baby Care System,” was presented by M. Thujeban (22IT0541), K.G.S. Lasara (22IT0498), S.P.D. Puwan (22IT0520), R. Sutheshika (22IT0536), and T. Tharnithan (22IT0537), addressing maternal and infant healthcare needs through a technology-driven approach.
Through their participation, students had the valuable opportunity to showcase their technical competencies, creativity, and problem-solving skills, while also collaborating and networking with students and academics from other universities across Sri Lanka. The event served as an excellent platform to broaden their exposure and strengthen industry and academic engagement.
