The ITUM Career Fair 2025 is one of the most significant annual events organized by the Institute of Technology, University of Moratuwa (ITUM), serving as a vital bridge between the academic community and the professional world. Organized under the leadership of the Career Guidance Unit, the event aims to create a direct and meaningful link between students and industry, supporting ITUM’s vision of producing competent, industry-ready technologists who contribute effectively to national development.
This year’s event commences with the Theme Day on 22nd October 2025, at the TAG Multifunctional Hall, ITUM, marking the ceremonial opening of the Career Fair. The Theme Day will feature an inspiring Opening Address by Dr. Yasas Pathiranage (Chief Guest), and distinguished Guests of Honour — Eng. Sujeewa Jayawardane and Eng. Nihal Perera. Adding further distinction, Eng. Ananda Gunawardana, President of the Institution of Incorporated Engineers, Sri Lanka (IIESL), will also participate in the sessions and share insights into the evolving role of technologists in the modern workforce.
The Theme Day will include keynote talks, interactive discussions, and panel dialogues focused on preparing students for their professional journeys—emphasizing employability, personal growth, and alignment with industry expectations. The session will conclude with a networking lunch, providing students and industry representatives with opportunities for direct engagement and collaboration.
The Gold Sponsors of the ITUM Career Fair 2025 — Brandix Apparel (Pvt) Ltd, MAS Holdings, and Dipped Products PLC — are gratefully acknowledged for their unwavering partnership and commitment. Their sponsorship and active participation reflect the strong confidence leading industrial organizations place in ITUM’s educational standards and the quality of its graduates.
The Career Fair continues on 23rd October 2025 with Interview Sessions, where a wide range of local and multinational companies will engage in the recruitment of students for internship placements and employment opportunities. ITUM annually produces approximately 800 diplomates in Engineering Technology disciplines, trained through a rigorous outcome-based curriculum that combines theoretical grounding with extensive practical exposure. Each student completes two six-month mandatory industrial training periods, ensuring that ITUM graduates are both technically skilled and professionally prepared.
Through the Career Fair, ITUM reaffirms its mission to serve as a center of excellence in technological education, fostering innovation, professionalism, and industry relevance. The event not only strengthens ITUM’s long-standing collaboration with the corporate sector but also inspires students to envision and build meaningful careers that contribute to the nation’s progress.
