Awareness Session on ISO 17025 Laboratory Quality Management System

Division of Polymer and Chemical Engineering Technology successfully organized an awareness program on ISO 17025 Laboratory Quality Management System on 29th of December 2021 at ZO 725 Auditorium of ITUM for all the staff members of ITUM.

The main purpose of the program is to educate the staff on implementation of the ISO 17025 Laboratory Quality Management in the selected laboratories of Division of Polymer and Chemical Engineering Technology as a first step. The independent assessment of ISO 17025 management system is evaluated by an impartial third-party accreditation body and this standard affords more credibility of testing which boost the reputation and the brand image of the organizations.

The session was conducted by Ms.Dewaki Chanchala Rodrigo, Manager-Laboratories of Dipped Products PLC at Kottawa. The resource person highlighted the general requirements for the competence of testing and calibration laboratories ISO 17025 during this valuable session. Director of ITUM, Retired Major General Shantha Kumar Thirunavukarasu and several academic and non-academic staff members of ITUM have been participated to the program.
