Pirith chanting is organized annually to invoke blessings on the institution, staff, students and the country. This time it was held on 14th December 2019 to mark the 79th anniversary of the Mother Course of NDT, the JTO. The traditional “Pirith Mandapa” was created by the students themselves and the university premises was illuminated with thousands of glamorous electric bulbs. The pirith chanting was held at the Administrative Building of ITUM and morning alms was offered for Buddhist monks on the following day with the support and participation of students, staff and villagers in the area.
