The Sri Lanka Baseball Federation organized an insightful coaching camp at the Information Technology University of Moratuwa (ITUM) on the 19th of December 2023. The coaching camp witnessed the presence of key figures in the Sri Lanka Baseball community, including Mr. Theekshana Gammanpila, CEO of the Sri Lanka Baseball Federation; Mr. Malindu Hewage, Head Coach of the Women's National Team; Mr. Damith Mallawaararchchi, Assistant Coach of the National Team; Mr. Chathuranga Ranasinghe, Director of Men’s Senior League Sri Lanka Baseball; Mr. Rintaro Tsukamoto, JICA Coach; and Mr. Tilan Gunasinghe, Former Navy Baseball Player. Their collective expertise and experience added immense value to the program.

The preliminary program unfolded within the ITUM premises, offering students a comprehensive introduction to the fundamentals of baseball. Subsequently, the action moved to the Diyagma National Baseball Ground, where practical sessions allowed participants to translate theory into practice.

The CEO of the Sri Lanka Baseball Federation shared profound insights into the vision and mission of the Federation. Beyond the formalities, he engaged with participants, providing motivation and encouragement that extends beyond the baseball field.

As part of the coaching camp, the Sri Lanka Baseball Federation generously donated baseball equipment to ITUM. This thoughtful gesture not only supports continuous student practice but also symbolizes a collaborative partnership between the Federation and the academic institution. The CEO of the Sri Lanka Baseball Federation shared profound insights into the vision and mission of the Federation, engaging with participants and providing motivation that extends beyond the baseball field.

Mr. G.G. Jayarathne, the Acting Director of ITUM, Heads of the Academic Divisions, and both academic and non-academic staff members actively participated, showcasing the university's commitment to holistic education, embracing sports as a crucial component.
