Best Presenters’ Competition 2022

The final round of the Best Presenters’ Competition conducted by the English Language Teaching Unit (ELTU) in collaboration with the ITUM English Club was held on 7th December 2022 in the U1734 mini auditorium, ITUM. After two preliminary rounds, the top 10 presenters out of 650 first-year students, were selected to compete in the final round. The event was organized by the members of the ITUM English Club.

The young and aspiring presenters with strong presentation skills who participated in the final round captivated the interest of the audience through their expressive and thought-provoking presentations. After a closely contested competition, Mr. M. P. A. Madushaka of the Division of Civil Engineering Technology who delivered his presentation on the topic, ‘Success Vs. Humanity’ was adjudged the winner of the competition while Ms. G. M. S. T. Thilakarathne from the Division of Electrical, Electronics & Telecommunication Engineering Technology and Mr. L. A.W. D. Dewapriya from the Division of Textile & Clothing Technology became 1^st and 2^nd runners up respectively.

Other participants with outstanding presentation skills who took part in the final round were P.V.D.C. Padukka from the Division of Polymer & Chemical Engineering Technology, K. De Silva and M. J. M. Jusly from the Division of Civil Engineering Technology, M. M. T. Kariyapperuma from the Division of Textile and Clothing Technology, and M. M. T. Maduranga, M. A. Jayasooriya and T.M.D.L. Premawansha from the Division of Mechanical Engineering Technology.

The winner and the runners-up of the competition were awarded medals and certificates and all other participants received certificates for their outstanding performances. 

The Director of ITUM, Major General (retired) S.K Thirunavukarasu, Dr. (Mrs.) S. Saparamadu, the Head of the Division of Interdisciplinary Studies and Heads of other academic Divisions, the Coordinator and the staff of the ELTU, and other members of the academic staff of ITUM participated in the event.
