Admission to the Library
- Entry is permitted only to registered ITUM students, academic staff, and non-academic staff.
- Users must sign the entrance register when entering the library.
Conduct Inside the Library
- The ITUM Library is a silent study zone; users must maintain quiet at all times.
- Mobile phones must be silent mode. Phone conversations must be taken outside.
- Eating, drinking, and smoking are strictly prohibited inside the library.
- Users are expected to dress and behave appropriately in accordance with ITUM norms.
Care of Library Materials
- Library materials should be handled carefully and returned in good condition.
- Writing, highlighting, folding pages, or damaging materials is strictly not allowed.
- Any damage or loss must be reported immediately. Users may be required to replace or pay for damaged/lost items.
Borrowing and Returning
- Borrowing privileges are based on user category (students/staff).
- Items must be returned on or before the due date.
- Overdue items will incur fines according to ITUM Library’s fine policy.
- Reference materials, past papers, and certain collections are not available for borrowing.
Use of Electronic Resources
- ITUM Library computers and e-resources should be used only for academic purposes.
- Users are not permitted to alter computer settings or install software.
- Passwords and remote access credentials must not be shared with others.
Personal Belongings
- Bags and parcels should be kept in the designated area outside the library.
- The library is not responsible for users’ personal belongings.
Reservation & Renewal
- Library materials can be reserved via the online system (OPAC).
- Renewals are permitted only if the item has not been requested by another user.
Group Study & Discussion
- Group discussions and collaborative work should be done only in designated study areas or rooms.
Library Environment
- Users must keep the library clean and maintain proper order.
- Furniture and equipment must not be moved without permission.
Disciplinary Measures
- Violations of library rules may lead to suspension of borrowing privileges.
- Serious misconduct will be reported to ITUM authorities for further action.
