POWER ELECTRONIC LABORATORY (D2602)

The power electronic laboratory has been set up mainly to teach the practical aspects of the concepts and working of advanced power semiconductor devices and power electronics circuits.  At present it conducts the practical for the NDT Electrical Engineering Technology students only. It undertakes the laboratory components as well as stimulation software of the following areas,

  • DC to DC Converting Experiments
  • AC to DC Converting Experiments
  • DC to DC Converting Experiments
  • Power Electronic Controlling Experiments

The power electronics & control laboratory is also used in carrying out students researches.

RESOURCES

1. DC to DC Converting Trainer Panel

  • Buck Converter, Boost Converter, Buck Boost Converter and CUK Converter experiments are carried on this trainer panel.

2. AC to DC Converting Trainer Panel

  • Single Phase Full Wave Controlled Rectification, Single Phase Half Wave Controlled Rectification, Three Phase Full Wave Controlled Rectification, and Three Phase Half Wave Controlled Rectification Converter Experiments are Carried on this trainer panel.

3. DC to AC Converting Trainer Panel

  • Single Phase Frequency Control, Frequency & Magnitude Control, Sinusoidal PWM and 3 Phase Square Wave Experiments are Carried on this trainer panel.

4. UniTrain System with Learning Management Software - Lab Soft Classroom Manager

  • Power electronic controlling experiments are carried out by this system. The UniTrain Interface is the central unit of the UniTrain system. It incorporates all inputs and outputs, switches, power and signal sources and measurement circuitry needed to perform experiments. The Interface is controlled via the connected PC by Labsoft Classroom Manager 5.0 Software.
